What do we need to bring with us?

For the purpose of deciding what to bring with you, consider us as a Hotel, we provide everything you would expect from a hotel, such as bedding, towels, shampoo and soap. The only item we would ask you to bring in addition to your normal ski wear items, is a pair of soft non-marking indoor shoes. If this is your first skiing holiday then please let us know and we will help you with a more detailled list of what you need to bring.

Do you have ski equipement we can use?

Sorry we do not have equipement for rent from the Chalet but there are numerous Rental shops in the village where you can hire ski equipement. Snow Valley Ski Shop is one of the closest to the Chalet and you can pre-book ski-rental with a discount from their website

Is there a telephone at the Chalet?

We do have a telephone at the Chalet which we are quite happy for you to use for incoming calls. If you need to use the phone for outgoing calls we reserve the right to make a reasonable charge which would be payable locally. There is good mobile phone reception in the Chalet and Village but is patchy once you are up in the ski area.

Should I hire a car, and where is the best place to do this?

If you are coming by plane or train then hiring a car will give you increased flexibility. Please remember to order snow chains with any car hire and if you are renting in Italy it is well worth purchasing fuel additives at the first opportunity to add to the Italian fuel in the tank in order to avoid a freezing fuel situation.

Do you have laundry facilities?

Normally you should not need to do anything other than a little hand washing during a ski week, but should you need to we do have a washing machine and dryer.

Does the Chalet have heating in every room?

Every Bedroom has an electric heater, however the Chalet is typically so warm we sleep with the window open so as not to overheat! On the ground floor we have a heated boot room where you can hang your wet ski clothes and find your toastie ski boots each morning.

Does the Chalet have TV, CD, Video and DVD players and are there any tapes/CDs already there?

We do not have a TV at the Chalet because there is so much more to do than watch TV. Ski, Toboggan, Snowball Fight, Igloo building, Cards or other games, and based on discussions with our previous guests we do not feel the need to get one. There is a music system in the living room with a small selection of CD's and a lead to plug in ipods should you wish to. We also have plenty of novels or books on ski-technique should you prefer.

Is there local area information - maps, leaflets, activities etc - provided at the Chalet? If not, where can I get this from?

There is a large information book at the chalet. This lists not only useful information about the chalet, but also ski maps from most of the neighbouring resorts. We also have plenty of Guides on the surrounding area and local attractions beyond just skiing. There is also a very good Tourist Information office in the village.

What is the skiing like in the resort?

Valfrejus has 7 lifts and 25 runs, a mix to suit beginners to advanced, however the marked blue runs although gentle for the most part do have a tinge of red in them, so absolute beginners and timid blue skiers are probably restricted to using the bubble lift from the village to get to/from the upper slopes.

Can I buy English papers locally?

Yes one of the local Souviner Shops in the village often has a couple of English newspapers for sale. However a word of caution, they normally only have one or two so you have to be quick and they are usually a day old.
